Flying around San Diego, Iron Man is shot at by a thermal intensifier. He destroys it and leaves, not seeing the Death Squad arguing amongst themselves. Tony Stark arrives at Stark Industries and chats with some production line workers who suddenly attack. Fighting them off, he notes they look possessed, then leaves as the Black Lama watches. With nothing to do Stark decides to attend the San Diego Comic-Con as Iron Man, where he's startled by some realistic villain costumes, who turn out to be the real Death Squad.

Sgt. Fury & His Howling Commandos #40 - Published 10th January 1967

The Howlers go to France to assist the French Resistance. During their trip they are tasked to rescue their old friend Jaques Dernier who had been captured by the Nazis by Claire. Upon reaching him Nick Fury realizes that the person they rescued was a Nazi spy in disguise when he already knew who Eric was despite never meeting him. After fighting off some Nazis they find the real Jaques along with a few other prisoners. Together they fight their way out of the Nazi base then make their way back to the boats and take off for the rendezvous with allied forces for a pickup. On the boat ride to the meetup Eric voices his concerns for his sister if the Nazis have learned his identity.

Feeling guilty that he has neglected his adopted "son" Wundarr, the Thing decides to pay a visit to Project Pegasus to see if the young man has recovered from his coma since being exposed to the energies of the Cosmic Cube. After passing the security screening he is granted access and given a priority access card. When he meets Quasar, the new chief of security, Ben mistakes him for the Crusader -- an insane Uranian super-hero which the Fantastic Four previously battled and thought dead. After a brief scuffle, Quasar reveals that he is really Wendel Vaughn, whose father had recovered the Crusaders Quantum Bands following his death and gave them over to his son. With the misunderstanding cleared up, Quasar takes Ben to see Wundarr.

The Professor reveals to the X-Men that he has uncovered the location of Frankenstein's Monster, long thought a myth due to the fictions of Mary Shelley, but an astonishing reality.

2. The First Evil Mutant - Written by Roy Thomas.

Young Scott Summers has been lured to the home of Jack Winters, a mutant with incredible mental powers, who intends to use him to rule over mankind. With the police seeking out Scott, Winters uses his mental powers to teleport them away. While they manage to elude the police, they do not escape the notice of Professor X as their travels are picked up by his prototype mutant detector Cyberno, however, the signal is lost before the Professor can pinpoint it.

The New Mutants #95 - Published 11th September 1990

Shell Game X-Tinction Agenda Part 2

Storm, Boom-Boom, Rictir, Wolfsbane and Warlock have been captured by Magistrates (Earth 616) and teleported to Genosha all nude, where they learn that Cameron Hodge, now using a huge mechanical body, has allied with the island nation. The mutants are stripped of their powers and prepared for undergoing the mutate process, but Warlock sacrifices his last energies to help his friends to break out, now clothed. They split up and try to escape the Citadel, but Rahne later turns back to help Warlock. She arrives just in time to prevent Hodge from infusing himself with Warlock’s shapeshifting ability, but she can’t prevent her teammate’s death. In New York, X-Factor and the remaining New Mutants and X-Men learn of their friends whereabouts through the TV news. Genosha considers the X-Men as criminals of the state which will be brought to trial, Warlock is reported to have been killed while trying to escape.
